It can be a relief for some parents to have trampolines with nets. These trampolines enclosure nets can help you keep at ease when young kids take trampoline fun to the next level. But can nets really ensure safer fun?
There has been a lot of buzz over the use of trampolines with nets. It is true that having an enclosure around the trampoline can greatly reduce the risk of injuries due to bumps and falls from a trampoline. Some people however are no fans of safety netting. Their main point of argument it that nets have the tendency to make people too confident and complacent on the trampoline. This applies to both the kids using the trampoline and the adults watching them. Users may gain greater confidence when performing flip stunts on trampolines with nets. Watchers and sitters too may become less vigilant on the kids at play.
On hindsight, it does not seem right to blame the presence of nets for trampoline injuries. Nets really do provide good protection. Users and adult supervisors though need to change the way they view nets. Although these are protective enclosures, they cannot prevent accidents and injuries of all kinds and they can only do so much as cushion falls and bumps. As a general rule, basic safety precautions should still apply.
- Parents should never leave young kids unattended on a trampoline. It is also a good idea to regularly remind users not to perform advanced stunts.
- Trampolines should be used only one at a time even if a trampoline has a wide mat area.
- Toddlers shouldn’t be allowed to play on large trampolines. Mini trampolines with handle bars are best for them.
Trampolines with nets aren’t exactly the enemy. Your kids can safely use one as long as you keep constant watch on them.
