Country Strong Movie Reviewed – I just now saw this film this week. I do not comprehend why it was rated so badly, and it just shows why I am happy I don’t listen to the critics. There are some that don’t like it due to the fact they compare it to earlier pictures that are a bit similar. I have seen very few flicks like this, especially ones that are based on country so I arrived very neutral. Just take the flick for what it truly is, on its unique merit, for a really good story! The acting was wonderful. The singing, which was done by the actors themselves, was wonderfully passionate and real. Gwyneth, Garrett, and particularly Leighton, WOW! The plot? Who cares if it is similar to others. This film seemed so very accurate to what it may really be like. Gwyneth’s acceptance to be the character she has to be, was outstanding. She had humor, sensational talent and as a woman and spouse whose husband had forgotten how to actually be a husband and partner, she was intimate and light hearted yet likewise sad and lost. Garrett and Leighton played their roles very professionally, very real and we need to see more of them.
I love this film. It had a profound impact on me, being a musician and someone who had felt the loss of hope the exact same way Kelly did in this film.
