Grabbing the existing Kona out from the shed is never simple when its pouring it down with rainfall, but needs must. Strapping the bike to the back of the car got me completely soaked (a valuable thing I acquired changed afterwards).Going 20 miles on the local trail I whipped the Kona off the back and starting making my way through the gloopy mesh that’s mud, winter might be on the way out but i am not saying the trails have become drier. After 5 minutes of slow progress I needed to halt to clear the mud from the forks, hardly the best of starts, regardless I sustained slogging until I received right out of the wood section, thankfully for the sun.
The wet gloopy mesh where the Kona struggled is actually behind me, leaving a dry single trail between me along with end of your ride, perfect conditions to nail it, the very first time this current year! Getting back on the good old Kona never felt better, although I felt the pace after Quarter-hour of pure speed it turned out defiantly worth obtaining bike out of the shed.
About halfway through the trip I saw my first sign of life, another mad idiot out on his bike (just as me) although he was on a Giant instead of a trusty Kona, that’s probably why it might look like he was having more fun. I made the decision to enjoy a quick chat then race him to the end of your route.
Even so the Kona pulled out every stop I simply wasn’t fit enough to maintain and then he eventually blasted past without difficulty, a shame considering I seemed to be feeling up for a race. At the conclusion of the track I slapped the Kona on the back of your car and headed home, puncture free!
At the end it turned out an excellent ride and however, there are better bikes these days than my 2005 Kona, it’s still fun and fast to ride!
