Movie Review Of I Am Number Four – This film is not the best action flick of the year. This film is not one more tongue-in-cheek teenage picture. More importantly, this motion picture is not a wannabe of the Twilight franchise. This movie is enjoyment for all audiences that offers a good storyline, action, and a wish to want far more at the finish.
The flick does borrow from the “Twilight” franchise, in that it portrays a high school outsider as an ethereal personality. It may not be exactly treading new ground, however it is sure to make an effect at the box office. The motion picture uses more of a sci-fi scenario however, in lieu of the paranormal, as the backdrop for the storyline.
I Am Number Four tells the tale of Number 4/John Smith, who is the fourth of nine alien youngsters that had been forced to escape their home world of Lorien. The world had been brutally ravaged by the evil Mogadorians. These evil aliens must get rid of each of the nine alien children in numerical order (the reason for that is unclear) before the children can realise their super-powers, and use their extraordinary powers to stop the Mogadorians from ruling the planet. Regrettably, Number Four has selected this unique moment to declare his independence from his mentor, which leads to a great number of complications. His sister, Number Six, has been attempting to find Four, as well as going after the Mogadorians. She comes just in time for the ending action sequence in which the High School is ruined, the whole football field is decimated and alls well that ends well. I believed the acting was believable and constant, unlike prior reviewers who claim the actors lost steam midway thru the picture. Timothy Olyphant is perhaps the best character in the film, Pettyfer following right after. The best aspect about this flick is the love story inside the plot that wasn’t painful or irritating to see, as is sometimes the case. I watched it free online at the free movie site.
