Movie Review: Rango - Yesterday I had the pleasure of viewing an early showing of Rango. It was a blast! This movie was a whole lot of fun. The gags all hit the right marks, the storyline was solid, sweet and not too formulaic, and the visuals were remarkable. There were moments that this picture seemed 100 percent photo-real.
Remarkable job modeling and texturing and lighting on this film. The minute attention to detail in the world the picture built had me in wonder during much of the picture. The animation was enjoyable and eccentric. Sometimes outrageous but sometimes subtle and full of meaning. The only tiny nit-pick was the mouths on a number of the characters. In an attempt to make the animals look more like the animals they were representing the mouths were rather small and often the sync was a bit odd. Nevertheless it provided for some goofy looking characters that were fun. Get Rango free movie downloads.
At a little over an hour-and-a-half, occasionally it felt it was slightly too slow-paced. I looked at it that they were trying for the slower experience of many classic westerns. I believed the long expanses of very little dialogue, epic music and visuals, and amazing photography in the long run worked in the films favor.
The rest of the audience dug it also. I imagine the youngest person in the theater was about 5 and the oldest was probably in their 60s and absolutely everyone was involved.I was kind of astonished what they could get away with in a Pg-Rated picture. I’m not a prude or anything, but there were enough adult gags tucked in there to give me the giggles. Number of lite swear words, a few references to more adult type themes, but in general pretty tame and pleasurable. Watch free movies online, including Rango.
Hats off to the movie makers. If this film does not win awards I don’t know what I trust anymore. This is one of the more pleasurable pictures I’ve seen in a long time. Watch Rango at the free movie site.
