The Movie Paul Reviewed

Paul – Holy cow, what a ride! No matter what you look for in a film this has it all. You can watch the free movie. Action, Comedy, and Sci-Fi are all fitted together nicely and the consequence is probably the most satisfactory motion picture of the year thus far.

Finally back together once more after the massive successes that were Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost play two British dweebs on a vacation in America. The first layover on their list is San Diego where they check out the dweeb extravaganza identified as Comic Con. After racking up the coveted autograph they were after, their travel carries on to Area 51, where they meet a peculiar old woman, a pair of hillbillies, and a foul mouthed alien called Paul. Paul has been hiding on the military base for the last 60 years and now, for some reasons has determined that he wants to get away and return to his mother ship. And so begins the funniest and strangest road trip adventure since Planes, Trains, and Automobiles or maybe Midnight Run.

The cast of characters that these 3 meet along the way are some very familiar ones in the comedy universe. Jane Lynch, David Koechner, Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Jeffrey Tambor, Blythe Danner, John Carrol Lynch, and of course Seth Rogen who vocalizes Paul the alien. Discovering all these familiar faces crop up throughout the movie is a super treat to devotees of comedy. A lot of inside gags and special nods to other flicks from the sci-fi genre are dotted throughout and fans of the genre should be able to pick up on them engender a great enjoyment out of it. Props should also go to Director Greg Mottola for having the balls to even undertake such a creature of a movie.

Everbody unquestionably played their A game for this movie and it shows. Good funny performances from all, including Seth Rogen who, despite getting on a lot of peoples nerves, genuinely does have a knack for these voice roles and he didn’t annoy me at all. Wonderful direction from Greg Mottola who is now, in my view, 3 for 3 in directing with Superbad, Adventureland, and now Paul. Damned good job of writing by Pegg and Frost likewise, as they crafted a genuinely humorous account that pays impeccable regard to the movies in the genres that have come before it. Congratulations to all concerned, damn good work.

So, whether you prefer comedy, action, sci-fi, romance, or adventure movie downloads , then you are gonna absolutely love Paul. The combining of all these genres fits seamlessly with this cast of eccentrics and they bring us on a ride that, as a motion picture you won’t soon forget. Also, be on the lookout for a cameo at the close that will slap a terrific damned giddy smile on your face.
